Competition Rules: The Australian Travel Company 2010 Photograph Competition
Period of Application: 05 February 2010 - 31 August 2010

1. Competition Organiser
The organiser of the 2010 Australian Travel Company Travel Photograph Competition is Travel Match Ltd (“Travel Match”) a UK registered Company, Company number: 4518415: trading as ‘The Australian Travel Company’. Employees of Travel Match and its group companies, and any of the official partners, sponsors, or associates of Travel Match and their families that are connected or related to the competition are not eligible to enter this competition.

2. Eligibility
By entering the competition, you agree to be bound by the following rules as detailed below, and also Travel Match (Trading as the Australian Travel Company) terms and conditions of website use for (The Australian Travel Company) its privacy policy and copyright. You must also adhere to the Members Rules for the Australian Travel Forum. The competition is open ONLY to *amateur photographers (*amateur photographers is/are defined as those who DO NOT make their living SOLEY from the supply of photographic services and photography as their principal source of income.) Amateur or semi-professional photographers who have received MORE than £4000 in the last calendar year for their services for the sale of their images are also NOT eligible to enter the competition. The competition is open to entry from all nationalities, from ANY country who are over 18 years of age on the 31st August 2010 (the closing date of the competition) and who have access to the internet. Entries can ONLY be submitted by an individual ONLINE via the website for the competition and participants MUST submit their personal details as per the membership joining criteria to become a member of the Australian Travel Company in order to participate in the competition. Photographs entered must have been taken NO more than 3 years prior to the competition closing date.

3. How the Competition Works
The competition runs from 05 February 2010 until 31 August 2010. It has 6 monthly prize winners who will then entered into the main prize judging. For the purpose of balancing the monthly entries to be approximately the same number of entries each month the first two months of the competition will be combined in 1 period (February & March). Months: Feb/Mar April, May, June, July, August. (Total: 6 Months)

A maximum of 1 FREE entry ONLY is permitted. Four (4) EXTRA paid images can also be submitted for a total of 5 images per member. NO duplication of membership is permitted – i.e. the same person submitting another photograph(s) through signing up as a different member. If this is detected ALL duplicate memberships will be instantly banned and photographs will be deleted. All photographs must have been taken with a digital camera. Images uploaded to the competition website should not exceed the maximum size of 2MB, in JPEG format or 4MB in any other format (GIF, PNG). Ideally the submitted images should be reduced to around 800 x 600 - 1000 x 800 pixels (72dpi) for maximum upload speed. If you supply either TIFF/PHOTOSHOP/EPS/BMP files they will NOT be accepted. You must also have the original high resolution image in your possession as if you are shortlisted as a potential prize-winner you will be asked to send us the original image for verification and judging.

ANY image that has won ANY prize in ANY photographic competition or is entered into any other photographic competition over the same period as this competition runs or where the results are still pending, is NOT eligible for entry. All entrants in the competition hereby agree to participate in any publicity in connection with this competition as required and to the use of your name and likeness for the purpose of promotion and publicity.

4. Legal Requirements
By submitting your entry into the competition, you warrant to Travel Match that your entry belongs wholly to you, is wholly original to you, has been taken by you, and not wholly or substantially copied from any other material and that the entry does not defame, cause injury to or invade the privacy of or otherwise infringe or violate any statutory, common law, regulatory or intellectual property rights of any third party. You agree to fully indemnify Travel Match and/or any of the official partners, sponsors or associates of Travel Match relating to the competition in respect of all royalties, fees and other monies owing to any person by reason of your breaching this rule.

5. Entering your Photographs
Entries must be submitted in accordance with the instructions set out on the Entry Page Instructions

6. Image Editing
You can use ‘light’ or marginal image enhancement (i.e.: Photoshop) techniques if you wish to optimise images, such as saturation, lightening, darkening etc, however any overuse could be judged as being overly excessive and result in your photograph(s) being considered as having been too manipulated resulting in your image not being selected. Remember also that if your image is selected on the monthly prize shortlist we will require the ORIGINAL image file for judging.

7. Category: Travel
This photographic competition is about TRAVEL. We will accept just about any image that is linked to - or somehow connected to TRAVEL – no matter how tentative or nebulous the link is. Photographs DO NOT have to be just of Australia - they can be of ANY country in the world. The competition is about finding a fresh, vibrant – yet SIMPLE set of winning images that portray the JOY OF TRAVEL. Any image that is related to, or forms part of a travel experience can be submitted. Please note however in the case of images of living person(s) if full or recognisable facial feature images are submitted you MUST have a release form for the person(s) in the photograph(s).

8. Closing Date
Competition closes at 6.00pm GMT, 31 August 2010

9. Judging
Members will be contacted to supply an original high-resolution image if they are judged as a finalist for the monthly prize judging. If the member cannot supply the original high resolution image within 7 days of our request for such they cannot be included in the monthly prize judging. All finalists for the monthly prize judging will be notified on the first day of the month following the previous month. Judging will take place during that week and the monthly prize-winner notified 7 days after the end of the previous month. Travel Match will appoint a judging panel to determine the monthly and overall competition winning images. The decision of the judges in determining the monthly and overall winners is final and irrevocable and Travel Match will not enter into any correspondence or dialogue regarding the judging, organisation or administration of the competition.

10. Notification

Grand Prize Judging Results: 31 September 2010. Winners notified 1st week in September 2010
1st Prize: 2 Business Class Return Tickets with QATAR AIRWAYS: London to Melbourne - plus 7 nights accommodation in a luxury Hyatt Hotel in Melbourne. Value: Approx $15,000 USD
2nd Prize: 1 Economy Class Return Ticket with QATAR AIRWAYS: London to Melbourne - plus 7 nights accommodation in a luxury Hyatt Hotel in Melbourne. Value: Approx $5000 USD
3rd Prize:1 Economy Class Return Ticket with QATAR AIRWAYS: London to Melbourne. Value: Approx $1500 USD

Substitution of Prizes
In the case of any unforseen circumstances Travel Match reserves the right to alter these prizes and substitute such with a comparable alternative. Any change of prizes will be immediately notified to all members by email and such information will also be posted in a prominent position on the website. If this happens members will have the right to withdraw from the competition and have their photograph(s) deleted from the competition.

Quality of Images
If the quality of images in any one month (or period as defined in the competition) is below the expected standard required, Travel Match reserves the right NOT to award a prize for that month or period.

Prizes are non-transferable
Prizes are non transferable. Prizes cannot be redeemed for cash. Qatar airline tickets are valid for travel for one (1) year, are subject to load restrictions, and might not be available for travel at certain peak times of the year. Hyatt Hotel accommodation could be subject to space available restrictions. Winners MUST supply a full CURRENT postal address and any other such other information Travel Match may require for the purpose of supplying the prizes to the winners. Upon address details being supplied, winners must allow up to 28 days for delivery and receipt of their prizes.

11. Copyright
The entrant must be the sole author and owner of copyright, intellectual property, and all other proprietary rights in all pictures entered. It is not the legal responsibility of Travel Match but of the entrant (member) to ensure they (the entrant) comply with all of these ownership and copyright requirements and own the rights to reproduce their images. Entries that do not fulfil these criteria will not be eligible for the competition and will be disqualified. Travel Match and the promoters of the competition do NOT make any claim on the copyright of your images. With all photographic entries in the competition the photographer will retain full copyright.

12. Use and Reproduction of Photographic Images entered into the Competition
Entrants, by entering their images into the competition, grant to Travel Match and any of the official partners, sponsors or associates of Travel Match relating to the competition a world-wide, non-exclusive, irrevocable licence throughout the world for a period of four (4) years from the date on which the results are announced to reproduce any of the images for any purposes in all media in connection with promoting Travel Match and its associated entities or services and any of the official partners, sponsors or associates of Travel Match.
We do not claim unlimited licence for Travel Match or any of the official partners, sponsors or associates of Travel Match relating to the competition to reproduce your images outside of the terms set out above. All entrants must be able to supply a high-resolution image suitable for print media.

13. General
(12.a) The competition rules and the competition are governed by English law. Any disputes arising between Travel Match and any third party in relation to these competition rules and/or a competition shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales (save that Travel Match shall be entitled to take action against a third party in any other jurisdiction). (12.b) If there is any inconsistency between any of the provisions of these rules, Travel Match & The Australian Travel Company terms and conditions of website use or Travel Match's privacy policy, the provisions of these rules shall prevail.
